I once read a sentence in “The Quality of Marriage” that I really liked: When you’re in love, it’s not that grand.
It’s just that the beauty of spring doesn’t enter your eyes, and everything between your eyebrows is all about him. The wind, the rain, and everything else are just scenery, but he is the landscape.
I think this is the most genuine and sincere feeling for most women. They can be cautious and careful, yet still want to be bold and open, revealing their true hearts, and having all sorts of expressions.
Seeing You Makes Me Smile
Scientists have done experiments and found that 80% of women will involuntarily raise the corners of their mouths when they see the person they have a crush on. Scientists call it a “signal of infatuation.”
High school campus love is probably the most beautiful and pure. Most girls’ crushes are secret admirations rather than open declarations.
I remember when my good friend, Emily, had a crush on a boy in a neighboring class. To me, her crush seemed genuine and a bit clumsy, yet lovable: she would search for him in crowds, and just one glance would make her feel at ease.
In the school corridor, she would carefully approach him, intentionally lingering in the supermarket because she knew he would definitely come back to buy cold drinks. Then, she would suddenly grab me and walk quickly, slowing down near him, sneaking a peek. He didn’t know, but all these coincidences were Emily’s efforts.
“Mountains and rivers are unaware of the depths of my heart, like the wind and moonlight falling on the flowers.” Emily kept her crush hidden for three whole years. Except for that boy, it seemed like the whole world knew who had a crush, and finally, on the last day of graduation, with my encouragement, she finally spoke up.
It’s said that unrequited love is like a 24-hour convenience store that never closes, and unrequited love is like a spring that never blooms. Coincidentally, the two of them got into the same university, and Emily finally got her daily dose of love.
Later, when we met again during sophomore year, I asked her, “Has he become the person you imagined?”
She smiled happily and said, “No, but I still have feelings for him. Just thinking of him makes me smile.”
I think this is what it means to have true feelings, unrelated to his appearance or packaging, but like a flashlight shining on him, and you’re the light itself.
I’m Very Enthusiastic About You
In the book “Summer Sunshine,” there’s a sentence: “Wherever your gaze falls, the moon won’t chase after you, but I will, and I’ll always need you, and I hope to always be needed by you.”
A passive girl might be shy, but a girl who’s always passive definitely doesn’t love you. A shy girl who takes the initiative must truly love you, because taking the initiative requires a lot of courage.
Eric finally got married, and their love had lasted for eight whole years, long past the three-year itch and seven-year pain. In my impression, except for the first time when Eric’s boyfriend took the initiative, every time they broke up and got back together, it was Eric who made the effort to reconcile.
I had advised her countless times, but she, being so proud, never had a crush on anyone. Only with him did she put down all her defenses.
From bringing breakfast to school, to finding time to see him during the 10-minute breaks, to actively offering him water after playing basketball, and taking a three-hour bus ride to see him, exhausted, these initiatives, in my opinion, should be done by boys, but she did them all.
To be honest, I really pitied her back then. I didn’t think their relationship would work out, and I didn’t believe in her initiatives. I thought she wasn’t worthy of him.
Fortunately, after Eric’s meticulous care, the boy’s attitude towards her recovered, and not long ago, he even took her to meet his parents, and they discussed their wedding date.
Eric shared her joy with us, beaming like a kid. Yeah, the output and return of emotions may not be directly proportional, but it’s about the response, and he can always feel her genuine emotions, which will always move him.
As Eric said, “If he’s the ferryman, I’ll follow him to wander.” I think when a woman truly has feelings, she must be braver than men, willing to overcome all obstacles to get to his side. After all, how many examples are there of women marrying into a man’s family?
Women are naturally giving, not considering the consequences, only seeking love. They wish that the people they meet are all good, and their true hearts are cherished.
The greatest attraction between people is not your appearance or intelligence, but the warmth, kindness, and sincerity you convey to others.
It turns out that a woman who has true feelings is like this, clumsy yet lovable, and actively heart-wrenching. “Being loved” is the only way we become children again after growing up, and women who give their true hearts will be loved for life.
